Broker | Bay City Property Group

Derek Nemec

Derek Nemec is a Bay City native and the broker of Bay City Property Group. Before entering real estate full-time, Derek built his career in nuclear operations, where precision, discipline, and accountability were essential to the work.

Alongside that career, he began investing in real estate locally — building a portfolio with over $3 million actively invested in Bay City property. That experience now informs how he approaches every listing and purchase: with clear data, careful analysis, and a focus on long-term value.

Derek previously served on the Matagorda County Appraisal Review Board and currently serves on the Bay City ISD Education Foundation Board, supporting education and community initiatives across Bay City.

Outside of real estate, Derek enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures around the world — experiences that have strengthened his appreciation for the place he proudly calls home.

Four people standing together inside a mosque with intricate Islamic architecture. Three women are wearing maroon hijabs and robes, and one man is wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and khaki pants. All are smiling.
